Mooloolah loop

The Mooloolah River National Park offers a nice little walk or two. It's pretty flat, and this is appealing also to cyclists I noticed.

I did an early morning exploration yesterday, starting and finishing at the eastern end of Claymore Rd.

It was very waterlogged when I first ventured in a few months back, but it's largely dried out now.

Mudjumba sights and drains

 

 

There's a nice little loop walk to be done in Mudjimba, involving the Xanthorrhoea Track and the 'Mudjimba Drain', no less, in the Maroochy River Conservation Park. Doesn't sound too salubrious, but in fact it's a bit of a scenic gem.

Spiderlily

 

 

 

I associate it with South East Queensland, but it's originally from South America. It's Hymenocallis speciosa, the green-tinge spiderlily and it's everywhere round here.

Maroochy River Wetlands Sanctuary

It's out along Lefoes Rd and then Sports Rd, just north of Bli Bli, and it's a bit of a gem. There's an excellent 1km boardwalk out through the wetlands to the mighty Maroochy River.

The sign does warn about mosquitoes though. Better to be doing it between May and October, it said.
